Storytelling has been woven into the fabric of human existence since ancient times, depicted through cave paintings like those of Lascaux and the iconic Venus of Willendorf. In my own creative journey, I endeavor to contribute to this rich tradition by crafting intricate porcelain sculptures that delve into the realms of figure, flora, and fauna.
Through my art, I construct narratives that intertwine personal experiences with observations of animal behavior and symbols. This exploration serves as a means to comprehend the intricate relationship between humanity, the natural world, and my own place within the contemporary landscape. In my work, I seek to illuminate both the shared connections and the contrasting shadows that bind us together.
Clay, as a medium, offers me boundless possibilities for expressing my narratives. Its versatility allows me to mold and shape surfaces to accentuate the stories I wish to convey. With a history stretching back to the earliest civilizations, clay has been a vital tool for storytelling across cultures, uniting humanity through its timeless medium.
Porcelain, with its pristine beauty and delicate texture, serves as my chosen medium. Often left in its raw state, it possesses a skin-like quality that enhances the emotive resonance of my pieces. Each element of my imagery holds specific significance; dogs symbolize loyalty and love, birds evoke vibrancy and freedom, swans represent purity, and bunnies embody fertility. Flowers, meanwhile, symbolize the cyclical nature of life and rebirth.
Ultimately, I see my work as a metaphor for the perpetual transformation of existence, each piece a testament to the ever-evolving chapters of life's journey.
